Exterior painting and facades: built to withstand the Valaisan climate

Intense sun in summer, frost and snow in winter, the foehn putting woodwork to a hard test. A facade in Valais requires adapted products and meticulous preparation. Federal Master Certificate, premium materials, durability guarantee.

Our approach

5 steps to a facade that lasts

  1. 01

    Exterior assessment

Identifying cracks, blisters, moss and water infiltration. Checking the condition of joints, drainpipes and wooden elements (shutters, eaves).

  2. 02

    Thorough preparation

High-pressure washing, antifungal treatment, stripping of flaking old paint, repair of spalls and application of a primer/fixative.

  3. 03

    Choosing the right system

Render, pliolite, silicate, hydropliolite: each substrate requires an adapted system.

For Valais, we favour microporous and water-repellent paints.

  4. 04

Application in 2 to 3 coats

Bonding primer followed by a finish in two crossed passes.

Weather conditions are checked daily: no work below 5 °C, above 30 °C or before a period of rain.

  5. 05

    Inspection and guarantee

Joint worksite check, removal of protection sheets and waste disposal.

Ten-year product guarantee and workmanship guarantee on the application.

Frequently asked questions

Before repainting your facade

What season is best to repaint a facade in Valais?

Ideally from May to October.

The minimum temperature must be 5 °C, with no rain forecast within 24 to 48 hours and a reasonable humidity level.

At lower altitudes (Chablais), the favourable period is wider than in an alpine resort.

How often should a facade be repainted?

With a quality professional system and good preparation:

  • 12 to 15 years for pliolite paint;
  • 10 to 12 years for mineral render.

The alpine climate generally reduces these durations by 2 to 3 years compared to a facade in the plain.

Is scaffolding required?

Above ground floor level, yes.

For R+1 villas, a cherry picker can sometimes suffice.

The quote always includes the chosen access solution, with erection and dismantling included.

Do you have insurance for work at height?

Yes, I have professional liability insurance covering work at height up to 4 storeys.

Beyond that, I work with specialist partners in rope access.

What about a wooden facade (chalet)?

Application of stain or opaque paint depending on the desired look.

Stain preserves the wood grain and lasts approximately 5 to 7 years.

Opaque paint provides protection of 10 to 12 years.

In all cases, an insecticide and fungicide treatment is applied as a primer.
