Covering: renovate without replacing everything

Outdated kitchen but structure still in good condition?
Tired furniture but still solid?

Covering involves applying a premium adhesive film to existing surfaces.
The result: an impeccable finish, for a fraction of the cost of a complete replacement, with just two to four days of work.

Why covering

4 good reasons to consider it

Cost-effective

A kitchen renovated by covering costs 3 to 5 times less than a complete replacement, while retaining the same layout and existing plumbing.

Fast

Allow an average of 2 to 4 days to renovate a kitchen, versus approximately 2 weeks for a complete replacement (removal, delivery and installation). Your kitchen remains usable for most of the work.

Clean and discreet

Work with no strong odour and virtually no dust. Covering allows you to renovate your kitchen quickly without turning your home into a building site.

Eco-friendly

No furniture to dispose of. The existing items are reused and their lifespan extended by 8 to 12 years depending on use.

Frequently asked questions

Before you get started

How long does a covering last?

On average:

  • 8 to 12 years in a kitchen for vertical surfaces;
  • 5 to 8 years for worktops, which are more heavily used;
  • 10 to 15 years for interior doors and furniture.

Premium Avery and 3M films carry a manufacturer's guarantee of up to 7 years.

Is it resistant to heat, moisture and scratches?

Yes, under normal use.

Professional films are designed for kitchens and bathrooms.

However, as with a wooden worktop, it is not recommended to place a hot dish directly on a covered surface.

Can the covering be removed later?

Yes, without damaging the substrate when removed correctly.

With the right tool and a heat gun, the film peels off cleanly.

This is actually a real advantage for rental properties or to restore the original appearance later.

Which surfaces are not suitable for covering?

Very rough surfaces (render, raw concrete), fabrics or certain non-smooth leathers are not suitable.

Substrates must be smooth, clean and stable.

Doors with mouldings can be covered, but the result will differ from a perfectly flat surface.

How do I choose between covering and painting?

Paint offers a more natural look and an almost infinite choice of colours, but requires several coats and drying time.

Covering achieves effects impossible to reproduce with paint (wood, metal, concrete, specific textures), with faster application and fewer constraints related to odours or works.

Both solutions have their place depending on the project and the desired result.
